Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteering at Wild West Ranch Alberta is a rewarding way to gain hands-on experience while becoming part of a supportive and welcoming ranch community. Every day brings something a little different, so no two volunteer shifts are exactly the same.

Our volunteers assist with the day-to-day care and upkeep of the ranch, helping with general barn chores, feeding, cleaning, organizing, and preparing the facility for lessons, camps, and special events. Throughout the year, volunteers may also have the opportunity to help during summer camps, clinics, and other ranch activities as needed.

One of the best parts of volunteering is the variety of experiences you'll gain. As life on a working ranch changes from day to day, exciting opportunities often come up unexpectedly. You may get the chance to help care for our pigs and chickens, learn more about horse management and daily care, or even observe real-life veterinary visits, farrier appointments, and other behind-the-scenes aspects of horse ownership. These experiences provide valuable insight into the equine industry and allow volunteers to learn far beyond regular barn chores.
