Nestled in the heart of Alberta Wild West Ranch Alberta is a family-friendly western riding ranch offering a warm, drama-free environment for riders of all ages and experience levels. Whether you're just starting out or saddle-seasoned, our welcoming community and true western spirit make every visit unforgettable.

Conveniently located just 10 minutes north of Cochrane and only 35 minutes from Calgary, Wild West Ranch offers easy access from the city while still providing a peaceful, rural setting for horses and riders alike.

Our facility is designed with both horses and humans in mind, offering everything you need for a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience:

 

  • Round Pen – Perfect for groundwork, training, and light exercise.
     
  • Indoor Arena (60' x 90') – A cozy and functional space to ride year-round, no matter the weather.
     
  • Outdoor Arena (120' x 220') – A large, open space ideal for barrel racing, roping practice, or just stretching out for a good ride.
     
  • Large 3-Acre Pastures – Spacious turnout areas where horses can move freely, relax, and just be horses.
     
  • Private Outdoor Pens – Smaller enclosures close to the barn for horses needing solo turnout.
     
  • Heated Tack Room – A warm, cozy space to store and maintain your gear.
     
  • Individual Lockers – Secure, personal storage inside the barn for convenience.
     
  • Heated Barn – A comfortable spot to tack up and groom your horse, even during Alberta’s cold winters.
